ANFRENA
In 1997, we acquired Anfrena, the state-owned shipping and freight forwarding company. The company has warehouses and infrastructure in several ports and border posts, and it operates the biggest warehouse and storage spaces in all major ports of the country.
We have leveraged Anfrena’s national presence to expand into road toll operations. Behalf of the government, we are able to collect tolls and entry taxes at the border posts in Mozambique.
In 2007, we created Anfrena’s Petroleum Infrastructure Division to expand into petroleum pipeline and storage construction. Since then, the company executed several EPC contracts in Mozambique. It rebuilt the Matola Port Petroleum Fuel Terminal on behalf of the Port and Railway Authority of Mozambique (CFM) and received a long-term contract for operation and maintenance.
Anfrena has constructed storage facilities for Vale, Puma Energy, and Petromoc, the national fuel distributors of Mozambique.
The company has also helped to develop the country’s LPG infrastructure by constructing marine LPG terminals and bulk storage facilities at Maputo and Beira ports.
